Crowe and Dicaprio both great actors and with Ridley Scott on board this had to be a great film.

Very good if a bit depressing when you think that situations like this have probably happened.

Decaprio plays the man on the ground working to find the head of a terrorist organisation in various middle east locations. Russel Crow is his Washington based boss directing the action.

DeCaprio is very good. Crowe is interesting as he's not playing the action man but a purposely slightly bumbling, chubby and annoying character so I think he does well but difficult to separate his usual roles. Mark Strong though steels the show somewhat with the best performance I've seen from him, oozing command, charm and subtly.

Its a good film full of action, suspense twists & turns and questions of trust on all parties. A bit too long but good. There some beautiful desert shots I'd have liked to see in Blue ray.

Not a bad ride at all.

This is a film I first rented from Amazon's Lovefilm and it was so good I just had to buy it. I have watched it several times and will no doubt watch it many more as it really is that good.
Russell Crowe as expected gives a marvellous performance and Leonardo DiCaprio shows that he really can act with an equally good performance.
Mark Strong stood out for me in an exquisitely-dressed supporting role as head of Jordan's Secret Service - you really must watch the bonus features to learn about his clothes - fascinating!
Direction by Ridley Scott is - as expected - top-notch with costumes, make-up, editing, locations etc. superb.
You really must buy this film!

This engaging spy story uses the so-called war on terror as its vehicle for daring do. The acting is good and the locations exciting. It does preach a little, but it is a clever story with very credible performances from Crowe and DiCaprio.

The sub plot is about managers looking out for themselves, while the workers take all the risks and put in the real slog for no rewards. In more mundane spheres that's the day to day reality that so many of us have to deal with (albeit in Oldham rather than Oman).
