TOP 100 REVIEWERon 5 March 2015
When one hears the name 'Bobby Goldsboro' often just one or two numbers spring to mind such as 'Summer' (The First Time)
'Hello Summertime' and of course that one number 'Honey' however, his music does reach out somewhat further, he's an accomplished
songwriter, many that know some of his works consider his music to be a little melancholy, myself, i feel it's more about life's experiences.
As with most artists to collect all the numbers to perhaps replace that which you have on vinyl you often have to buy two or three albums.
When i first set about doing this during the 90's 'Bobby Goldsboro' was one of my early searches, however though i could find his hits what
was out there just didn't cover the tracks i wanted to find.
Today, it's a little different however, there is so much material available, though, you often still have to buy a few albums to get there.
Recently i did buy another album of his which had one or two of the missing links on-board, but, there was still a couple to find, this release
found me 'Watching Scotty Grow' a sad but brilliant track.
Though many songs on the play-list are repeated on many of his albums finding that one song at a sensible price is O.K in my view.
His vocal-style is so easy to listen too, so his versions of some of the classic tracks charted by others makes for relaxing listening, some
of the examples to be found on this album - 'Glen Campbell's' - 'By The Time I Get To Phoenix' - 'Roberta Flack's' - 'Killing Me Softly With
Her Song' - 'Perry Como's' - 'And I Love You So' - 'Kenny Rogers's' - 'Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town' - 'The Hollies U.K Hit' - 'He Ain't
Heavy He's My Brother' - 'Simon & Garfunkel's' - 'I Am A Rock' - and - 'Rolling Stones' / Melanie's' classic track - 'Ruby Tuesday' among
many to be found among the classic tracks recorded on this album by 'Bobby Goldsboro'
Great tracks coupled with some of the songs he penned including his Chart - Hits, makes this an easy-listening delight.

I always remember Bobby Goldsboro was a favourite of my dear old Dad's, so on seeing this album at a very silly, low price, I took a minor plunge and acquired it.
And am I glad II did. Hell's teeth, this guy could sing! I really had no idea just how good this guy was? Bit surprising he was not more famous than he was?
Anyway, I love this album.
Highly recommended.

Bought this for the tracks that everyone would know BG for - Honey, Summer etc. And overall lots here for the money just almost too much - some covers / versions by BG not as good as the originals, in my view at least, although suspect need to re-listen. Shows how prolific he was back in the day though.

Some fairly duff tracks on the album. I only bought it for the one about the 17 year old sleeping with the 31 year old with all of the odd rhymes in...
