This recording was made, presumably, during the marriage ( later divorce) of Argerich and Dutoit and is an ideal one, particularly the playing of Argerich. I have seen Dutoit conducting serveral times and find him rather charisma-free and cheerless. But he made a huge number of successful recordings with the Montreal Orchestra (try his famous recording of Ravel, Daphnis and Chloe). For a time he was rather like Ansermet and the Suisse Romande, recording nearly everything with a company (Decca I think) who were making superb recordings that tended to make sometimes non-error free playing sound superb. But Dutoit is not as higly regarded as Ansermet was. Nevertheless, the conducting here is very acceptable.
