You will find it an emotional rollercoaster with many ups and downs. A must have for your movie collection. I guarantee this film will make you see Tyson in a different light.

SPECIAL FEATURES REVIEW

Around 4 hours of footage from every fight of Tysons career... what more can I say BRILLIANT!!!

GENERAL RUN THROUGH OF THE FILM

The film is not a conventional movie it is a documentry showing the rise and fall of former heavy weight Mike Tyson. It starts of by telling you about his childhood and how he use to get bullied and picked on, then one day he fought back and realised he could stand up for himself. It then turns on to how he got into crime as a child and went in and out of borstals and it was there where he began to box. Later on he is introduced to boxing trainer Cus D'Amato by Irish boxer Bobby Stewart, who takes him under his wing and plays the father figure which he so desperately needed. Cus D'Amato taught him discipline and self control which led him to win every amateur title. It then goes on to show how early into Tysons professional career he sadly lost his trainer/manager Cus D'Amato and how it affected Tyson in a very bad way. He then talks about his feelings towards women and his sexual encounters. It then goes on to him winning the World Heavy Weight championship of the world. In time things start to get bad around him, he gets married then shortly divorced to Robin Givens, he became involved with Don King, then he starts getting lazy and stops training as hard (or not at all at times) and partying alot. Things then go from bad to worse when he gets accused of rape (he talks about this in great detail) and found guilty (I don't believe he did it personally). The movie then goes onto his return to boxing after his time inside which some fights included Lennox Lewis, Frank Bruno and the legendary two fights against Evander Holyfield which ended with Tyson biting Holyfields ear (for good reasons as you will see watching the movie)

The rise and fall of, in my oppinion, the greatest fighter ever is in this movie very well documented. A completely honest fighter that tells his story was something that moved me. It is something special to be witness to a guy who has been so exposed in the media tell the absolute truth. I had like many an oppinion about Tyson, and this changed throughout the movie. From his glorydays to the biting incident, this is a man that have lived a very strange life. An extremist in everything.

The bonus material is something that i was very amazed by, it is several hours of his fights and a panel that talks between his fights that are very interessting.

A highly recommendable movie!

Firstly, I was dissapointed that this wasn't an actual "movie". It is a documentary about him with some good highlights of some of his major fights. Much of it is about him justifying himself and his behaviour. If you are a boxing fan, I think you will enjoy some of the insights but also if you are an armchair psycholigist.I enjoyed some of the boxing but I love knockout boxing. Most of this dvd is Tyson talking about himself while sitting on a sofa or walking along the beach.I enjoyed it but wouldn't watch it again in a hurry.

If you're like me, a huge boxing fan, and grew up watching the meteoric and phenomenal rise of the gladiator known as Tyson, then this is a must see. Tysons name is known worldwide. Whatever your opinion of him, he remains to be one of the most prolific boxers of all time. This movie however, is a frank and open insight into Tyson, the man. His feelings, emotions and attitudes are all explored here in this honest and frank documentary about his rise and unfortunate fall from the top. Many have criticised the fact that the film concentrates on his "dialogue" rather than a review of his career. In my opinion there are many films, documentaries an one off items on TV that already do this. This concentrates on him.A definite must see....

Tyson has been labled many things over the years, 'Animal', 'Thug', 'Rapist' being just a few. The problem with lables, is that they tend to be oversimplified, and are often deliberate headline grabbing soundbites. As a previous review pointed out - take what you think you know about the man, and bin it. The thing here - all lables aside, is that it seems he is just a man after all, with all the foibles and imperfections that go along with that (I'm not downplaying the seriousness of some of the things that he did here - merely observing that in the same way that Kevin Spacy did not turn out to be Lucifer himself in Se7en, Mike Tyson deserves to be recognised as a human being, and not just objectified as a poster boy for society's ills). The moment that stood out for me, was after having lost to Lennox, and whilst Lennox is being interviewed by TV reporters, Mike leans in, and gently wipes some blood from the side of Lennox's face - a genuine jaw dropping moment of cinematic beauty. A stunning film, and well worth a look, for boxing and non boxing fans alike.

I highly recommend this film , most people associate this world heavy weight boxing champ, as a violent evil minded low class boxer , simply watch the film and see the true person inside that body, in his early years he was the worlds no one , boxers were frightened of him , what a punch,

Tyson is a special story of despair turned into hope then glory and when that arrives for the great man descends into downward chaos. His boxing abilities that took him to great heights is not harmonised and you see the results. But before Tyson descends to obscurity and ridicule he manages to find redemption after mastering his own demons. I watch it often when one finds himself in the dark corners of despair to find hope again...buy it and believe me you won't regret it.

... After watching it, I kinda believe he raped that bird now. The man filming the documentary ain't done him no favours! just made him look like a wrong'un. There's one weird scene with him just sat there licking his lips talking about how he likes to please women... Whats that all about!

It's OK, but not enough fights. When they do show a fight they use a horrible 'filter'. Watch the whole of his fights for free on you tube.
