This album is packed with great riffs and solos and the vocals aren't bad at all... so why only 3 stars? I have been following Sylosis since just before the release of 'The Supreme Oppressor' EP. Perhaps for that reason I am biased but their sound is just too repetitive for an album. Half of the album is packed with songs that are almost indistinguishable from each other.
Standout tracks are the tracks where a variety of vocals are used, ie singing and screaming. Without the variety the songs on this album lack the spark of the previous 2 EP's. So with that in mind I would recommend "Last Remaining Light" and "After Lifeless Years" as the highlights.
If you are new to Sylosis I would heartily recommend 'The Supreme Oppressor' as the pinnacle of their work so far.
