Unfortunatley Epic Games decided to change the packaging of the Ltd Ed from the Original Gears of War Ltd Ed. Unlike Gears 1 Big Metal Case with Plastic Slipcase you get a cardbored box which houses a steelbook case for the game and making of video disc and a art book. (Also code for Ltd Ed online Gold Lancer)

This package looks great but it would of been nice if it had the same package as the 1st Limited edition for collectors!

(Also you cant rewind or skip the making of dvd! just able to pause?!)

Game = 5star
Package = 4 Star

I have waited a long time for this game and it is so worth it. New everything, xbox live is much better and if you dont have live you can play with bots or do coop live and have bots. Love it, great price too i got it straight away and love it to pieces =P

It's hard to describe the feeling you'll get after finishing Epic Games' highly anticipated Gears of War 2. For the best part of ten hours you'll have had barely a moment's peace as Marcus and co pummel the seemingly unstoppable Locust army with a ridiculous amount of lead. The more sedate moments would be the climax in lesser games, with the many show stopping set pieces and events setting a new bar for interactive entertainment. Following the most successful original Xbox 360 game of all time was going to be hard, and it seems Epic wanted to make sure no one was left disappointed.

Some people will no doubt criticise Gears of War 2 for what it's not. It's not as emotionally deep as other games on the market, it's not a 30 hour + epic and it's not art in video game form, but is arguably the greatest action game ever created. In a year full of incredible games, Gears of War 2 sits triumphantly at the very top.from Tom videogame, just what i want to say^^!

The first Gears Of War was a fantastic game, but despite innovative gameplay mechanics - most notably the active cover system - it never really felt as momentous as experience as playing a Halo game. For this reason, I was expecting GOW2 to be great, but never imagined it would be this great.

For a start, everything has been improved and maxed up as much as possible. There are many more weapons, Locust variants, giant creatures, and ways to play both single player and multiplayer than before. But most importantly, it's the first game I have played that truly lives up to its claim of a "cinematic experience". It really is like playing through a blockbuster action movie, and the characters of Marcus, Dom, Cole and Baird are the most detailed, most fleshed out there has been in a squad type videogame. You care about them - easy to say, but with how many other game characters is that really true? The story is told on an epic scale and the clever use of vehicle and "beast flying" sections will make you gasp in amazement first and then want to punch the air in excitement because flying a Locust Reaver through landscapes that flash by in the blink of an eye whilst fighting off an even larger pursuer is just so amazingly cool.

Gone are the "Quake" days where a lone marine can win a war by himself - in GOW2 at several times you find yourself literally surrounded by so many friendlies and enemies you can't count them! If this were a film, the cost of hiring extras alone would be half of the budget! But if lone-marining is your thing, there is a new game mode called Hoard where you can play the multiplayer maps against intelligent AI Locust, facing wave after wave of increasingly menacing opponents. And not just cannon fodder either - they duck, run for cover, retreat, flank you, and genuinely do their best to stay alive as well as beat you. Defeating them really is a satisfying experience.

Limited edition packaging is exceptional quality, with an art book and making of disc, and also a replica of a photo that plays a big part in the story. Worth having.

To conclude, it's not just the best Xbox game ever; it's the best game ever without a doubt. The first game to beat Halo, and surely the new standard that every other game now has to be compared against.

... but a tons of bug in solo and on line. A THIRD patch is still required and we are not even sure it will resolve all the bugs and exploits.

However if you liked the first GOW, then you can buy this sequel eyes closed.

Next time they should take the time for debugging their product!

The collector version is quit nice, especially the art book. The DVD bonus is fun but you won't learn more things then in the solo campaign.

When Gears of war 1 hit the shelves it was an instant hit, everyone wanted to be a part of its gruesome, dark, gothic inspired world and once again Gears of War 2 provides us with much of the same.
Gears 2 kicks off 6 months after the events of Gears 1 involving the Lightmass Bomb operation and unfortunately for mankind the locust are not only still alive but they have "endured and prospered."

While Gears of war one was not fabled for it's storyline, just some guys running and gunning into the locust home to blow it up, Gears of War 2 has a much richer sense of story progression. The characters have more history and they seem to have developed their personalities more over the course of the games. For Gears 2 the main story focus is once again finding a way to blow up or demolish the locust homeworld and to do this the COG's are provided with "grindlifts" which drill through the crust of the planet and into the locust hive. This not only improves the pace of the story by throwing you straight at the enemy but introduces colours and environments not seen in the first Gears of War. The lighting and character models have all been improved to really immerse you in this world as you run through underground caverns laced with fungi or dodging digestive teeth in a giant worm.

The other main story component is the search for the wife of Dom, Maria, she was taken by the locust when the fight began and he has been on the hunt for her ever since he received word of her disappearance. The plot concerning individuals struggling through the war-torn world of Sera really highlights how difficult it is for one man to come to terms with the loss of his wife, let alone find her when orders dictate otherwise. When he finally comes across his wife the story takes a horrible dark twist as she isn't quite the way he remembers her. Difficult choices and rising tensions plague Dom's storyline and he is a much more down-to-earth character than Marcus or Cole.

All in all Gears of war 2 is a refinement of Gears 1 which also adds new weapons, new enemies and a new storyline style that is bound to impress so in the words of chief game designer Cliffy B "it's bigger, better and more badass"
