Good story -shame about the typeface
on 29 May 2014
To start with, this could have done with a bit of editing for kindle. I nearly gave up on it from the beginning practically as I thought I couldn't struggle through the dreadful typeface, smudges, hyphens and spaces where there should be none; most times the name Pete came up there was a space between Pe and te but I managed to live with that. It looked as though tippex had been used all over the place too, odd when reading on a kindle. However, after experimenting with fonts, sizes, lines and margins I found it possible to read.
I'm glad I persevered as in the end as I quite enjoyed the story itself. I found I was keen to pick it up, not so quick to put it down. I hate the name Beth Ann but that's just me. Probably girls in these rural Texan outback towns get called such names. After all, if the hospital is called Jackrabbit General, what can you expect?
I like thrillers. I'm not keen on love stories, maybe I should have checked this out more carefully before purchase. I'm even less keen on the more steamy romance side, let's skim over those bits! However, it was different and kept me turning the pages. I didn't guess the ending, by the way.
I'll leave it at just this one book, though, Colleen, thanks.
