Love it. My niece and nephew always want the controller with the joysticks abd use them verses the actual buttons. Annoys the life out of me. I prefer old style.
Wish they would offer a joystick free one for the newer PlayStations too.

What you're looking at here is an early PlayStation controller for the original PlayStation console. It's like the Dual Shock pad, except there is no rumble feedback and it doesn't have the two analogue sticks.

The pad (SCPH-1080 to give its model code name) is a comfortable product to hold in your hands. The D-pad, Start, Select and face buttons are all within the reach of your thumbs; as are the four shoulder buttons with your index and middle fingers. The downside is without the analogue sticks you don't get the precise control for games like Gran Turismo, and in the case of Ape Escape you cannot use this pad at all (it's Dual Shock only for that one).

It's an OK controller to use, but the Dual Shock controller is the number one choice for anyone who still owns a PlayStation or PSone console. This is more of an antique for retro gaming collectors to have on their display shelf. It's a cool antique, mind.

What the Playstation controller Model 1 lacks in overcomplications and size (see the original XBOX controller), this one makes up for in comfort and simplicity. Players - upon holding this - will feel accustomed to the controller right away, as they won't need to revise the buttons and triggers thanks to them being far apart enough not to mistake Square for Circle. Many might complain about the lack of analogue sticks and it's understandable, but anyone who has played Tombi or Rayman long enough can get used to that without a problem. It's a nice controller that fits into any players hand - be it a 4 year old or a 40 year old, it's novelty and comfort at its finest.

The verdict - 9 out of 9.
It's a controller. It controls the game. Nothing more, nothing less. This was made in the time when video game companies sold video games, and only that.

Only four stars due to the fact that out of the two controllers I ordered, the other wasn't in quite as good condition than the other. Otherwise I'm really satisfied wit the seller and the purchased products.

Great for MIB: The game. This is a good light controller for for a game like Men in Black: The game which doesn't need analog sticks to control the player.
