The previous reviewers have said it all. The recording by Decca, pre-eminent in recording technology since World War 2, is superb. I listened initially on earphones. When I switched to my favourite Grado SR60 headphones the sound expanded to a rich and detailed wide stage with sumptuous bass notes. As mentioned elsewhere, the cello sound is noteworthy.

The booklet of 12 pages that accompanies the CD has scenes from the movie as well as the usual track and timing details. The generous recording time is about 10 seconds short of 72 minutes. The shadow font used in the booklet for the track titles, red on a grey background, is not easy to read. Why not use flat white on grey?

The 23 tracks on this CD are a wonderful reminder of the movie and an equally memorable X File experience. Both the movie and this CD are highly recommended.

Great film and the soundtrack is a great companion piece.

The NEW X FIles Movie - I Want To Believe, for me, really lived up to the expectations, and the music in the tv series was a very big part of the show, very atmospheric and always fitted in when it needed to. If only more movies had stories as good as this!

Mark Snow always, even to this very day, has that same signature to his music. The reverbed piano parts blending with the strings of the orchestra, or synthesizer strings, bring back all those classic X File moments, and the music from this movie carries on that trend.
They are no sythesizer sounds this time, they have been replaced with the orchestra (just like the first X Files movie) but it still has that X Files sound.

On certain tracks cellos play a big part and recreate the joyous privelige of recapturing moments from the film.

The X Files theme has been remixed and still sounds ahead of it's time and is still a joy to listen to. UNKLE do it fantastic justice in this ever changing world of music.

Next up is the song 'Broken' which is a classic rock/pop song and again recreate the closing credits of the film WHICH MUST BE VIEWED AS IT LEADS TO A GREAT MOMENT. Watch through the credits and you'll see what I mean.

Go see this film whether new to the X Files or a hard core fan as story wise, it's fantastic. The acting from each actor and actress is spot on and really has a great atmosphere.
It's also very intresting to see in this world of High definition, multi million pound/dollar special effects that not all movies need all these things. This movie takes us into things which special effects never could and it deserves to be taken notice of.

X Files - I Want To Believe / OST I watched this movie on TV and ended up buying it on DVD and the music from this film is so great that i ended up buying this soundtrack. I simply love it,especially the last 3 tunes on it which is played at the end of the movie. They have it all on this CD and these last 3 tunes really do 'kick in' and are addictive to listen to. Absolutley marvellous and this arrived in great time and in immaculate condition and very well packaged. Really impressed !!
