Faulty Hinges Twice, dont waste your time
on 23 February 2017
My Twins received a Trunki each for a relative for Christmas, We went on holiday in Feb and the purple trunki was broken at the hinge, it just kept popping out when closing it, if it wasn't for having a non faulty one to compare it with I would have thought I was doing something wrong. But no eventually after multiple attempts it split in two and each time I put it back together It popped open.
I was too embarrassed to give the gift back so I bought this pink one off amazon to replace and you would never believe!! It had exact same problem. This time I contacted Trunki for assistance as surely I couldn't have two with the same issue?!
I provided photos as requested then told they were faulty and to return to the retailers as they the manufacturer does not take any responsibility in the first six months. I returned the pink one, but explained that the purple one could not be returned as I don't know where it was bought, they told me it was bought at Tesco as its Tesco exclusive colours. They then wanted me to make a video of it opening and closing, which I did, only to tell me that I had to return it to Tesco. Tesco online is sold out and the nearest big Tesco to me is an hours drive, I don't even have a reciept. So tough luck for me, I now have to chance buying yet another Trunki or just bin the both of them.
For our holiday I borrowed an older version from a neighbour. It seemed to have much better hinges and we used the non faulty blue one that was a gift. Customer service from Trunki pathetic.
The product itself I have bought before for my older child, I would never have bought again to be honest, i'ts a nice novelty for the child, however you cannot fit much inside, the lock parts at the sides are a pain, and toddlers scooting about an airport is a bit of a nightmare, much better off with a backpack, don't waste your money.
