Whoever decided to carve shapes in it should be sacked as it proved to be a complete waste of my money and my time
on 27 May 2016
I ordered the tape expecting a simple roll of tape printed with the word fragile. I mean, how can you possibly go wrong with something so simple? Well, you can't, not really? Oh how naive can I be because apparently you can go wrong with a roll of tape.
The end of the tape appears to be cut in a diagonal from top to bottom. Ok, so it didn't bother me that it wasn't a straight edge to start, why should it, but what DID bother me is that on the very first turn of the roll, the top layer took off around 20 layers worth of a sort of weirdly shaped triangular mess at the bottom of the roll, meaning that for every stretch I pulled off, there would be a dirty great strip of the tape missing. I stopped there and then and we inspected the rest of the roll. I'm glad we did as a few millimetres further on there was another cut, roughly the same sort of messy shape as the other and it was quite deep so each time we passed that point, we'd have another chunk out the tape. If that wasn't enough, that diagonal that we found to start with wasn't restricted to just the start of the tape and instead it appears to go all the way through each layer, meaning we can only use it a strip at a time. If I didn't know better, it looks like someones decided to have a laugh by attacking the roll with a scalpel or knife and cut shapes into it. rendering it completely useless for what we needed it for. It really does make it appear, when used, that you didn't take care when wrapping a parcel and it gives a totally wrong impression. Really disappointed to be honest and the only place this tape is going is straight in the bin. A total waste of my time and my money.
I've included a photograph so you can see exactly what I mean. Look at the bottom edge and you'll see the way it fails to go in a straight line due to the cut sections as well as how it tears at the diagonal.
