Super value camcorder but you need to know how to get the best out of it. Like some other people I was disappointed at first but after a few changes the disappointed feeling was gone. I'm glad I persevered with this little treasure so here's my advice.
For a start don't use a bog standard SD card but go for an SDHC Class 6 card, next set the camera to record at TV-HR at 60 fps, set Flicker Reduction to ON. You might like to set still pictures to Vivid mode if you like more colour in your pics but it's all down to personal taste.
Don't connect the camera to the TV or PC to play videos you won't get the best quality playback this way. Either copy the videos to your PC first or burn the videos to DVD.
This will get you the best possible quality. It's not HD but it shoots great video just the same. I watch mine on a 37 inch LCD TV and it's just fine. If you're not a pro or semi-pro and just want decent video and pics in one package without burning a hole in your pocket this is as good as it gets for now. Also you only need to carry one camera with you, this one. Get it now!!
I bought this camcorder on shopping channel £150 with 1GB. card. a great little unit.. after much fiddling with the controls I found the perfect setting for video..set to TV-SHQ Set photos to 9 mp high res. If you have a progressive scan DVD player, play back on this, the result is almost H.D. BUY THIS GEM YOU WON,T REGRET IT..
Menu system is simple and easy to follow. 5 X zoom is excellent and the ability to take still photos while taking a video is great. The twist screen and grip handle design make this a very easy to use camera. Battery life is ok but a spare battery is highly desirable. Ths small size ensures you can carry it around with you almost all the time. Video quality is fine especially for watching on a PC screen.
