Western for serious lovers of the Genre
on 19 May 2010
I have to compare this Brad Pitt and Ridley Scott production of the "Assasination of Jesse James" with Michael Cimino's "Heavens Gate" about the Johnson County Wars in the 1890's.
Both were very long films that took an inordinate time to tell their story and one had to concentrate very hard to appreciate both films as the clarity of the diction in places was difficult to understand.
The cinematography, acting, costumes and feeling for the period were excellent and the further the film went on, i appreciated what the 'modus operandi' of the directors and producers were trying to achief.I want to sit down and see them again.
I can understand why some reviewers only gave one or two stars to both films as they were definately made for the serious discerner of the genre.
