Having seen the dvd I can without doubt say that Richard Rich has done an excellent job in bringing the Prophet's(pbuh) journey and message to animated film. For Adults and the family, it's a great film. The extras are fantastic, especially the charachter history section which gives a good bio of the leading figures at the time.

The events in the film have been authenticated by Leading Islamic centres/institutions so rest assured what you see in the film did ineed happen...there are no over the top "for movie" exagerations...it has been authenticated by leading scholars...really is a great animation.

Recommended by children attending our classes, we watched the video ourselves and found it to be highly educational. The animated video portrays the Prophet Muhammed's journey and message. The DVD we viewed came with extras, providing a greater insight into some of the key characters. As pointed out by another reviewer, the events in the film have been authenticated by Leading Islamic centres/institutions. Enjoy and learn what Islam is really about. We did.

This movie is a great one to watch. It shows the story of Islam thoroughly and how life in Arabia was before Islam and how it all changed after the Prophet Muhammad was sent with the Message of Islam. It's a great film for the family to watch. I've enjoyed very much.

This cartoon movie is basically a cartoon version of the adult movie of the life of the Muhammad starring Anthony Quin called 'the message'. It is well produced but like 'the message' it only tells half the story. It only shows the gentle side of Muhammad which to be fair is defintily part of the story, however we are not told all the more controversial aspects that are also part of the traditional orthodox version of events. The parts with all the executions, and child marraige. It would be a bit like showing a movie of julius ceasar and mentioning how personally brave he was and how much good law he left behind him but forgetting to mention the brutality he visited on the gauls when conquering them. If this Movie is being aimed at teachers of the young, particularly those that might use it to eduacte non muslim children about Islam i think it only fair that they should see the complete picture. For example Mohammad recomended the freeing of slaves which he did, but in other instances he also took slaves, and even said it was ok to rape female prisoners of war from non muslim backgrounds. Mohammad was ceertainly one of the great figures of history but as a religious figure he is somewhat different than what one might be used to in the figures of Christ or the Budda. Teachers should be aware of this when using this video. That said it is well made and follows the tradition of not depiecting mohammad.

No problem with the quality of the cartoon, but it was a pity we weren't allowed to see Muhammad ('the benefolent'). That got tiresome also, that every time his name was mentioned, they had to mention this. I think people need to realise that Mohammed was a prophet and not a God. If the movie is about Muhammad, then lets see him, otherwise, I don't think you should have made it. There is a movie with Oliver Reed about Muhammad which shows him, so why such a fuss. I don't think it's told me much more about Islam than I already know, so I'm a little disappointed.
