This is a pretty good DVD. If you have read the book of the same name then you will already know the story. Even if you have read the book you should enjoy this DVD, yes the story is the same but it is told in a slightly different way.
If you have seen the 'Googlewack' live dvd then the style of presentation will seem familiar to you. In my opinion Dave Gorman is a fantastic storyteller. Dave makes great use of graphs and statistics to make an entertaining presentation of his story. In fact one difference that I noticed from the show and the book is that much more emphasis is put on the mpdg (miles per dave gorman)and the attempt to keep this within a certain range. This may not sound very exciting on paper but it brings a bit of extra drama and entertainment to the show.
Fans of Danny Wallace (Co author of the book) will also be pleased to see Danny sat in the audience for every show. Another benefit of seeing the show is that you get to see video clips of Dave meeting many of his namesakes as well as a number of his namesakes appearing with him on the show.
If you don't already own Googlewhack on DVD then I would recommend that you buy that before considering purchasing this one. I would give Googlewhack five stars. The reason why this DVD is not as good is that it can get a bit annoying if you sit down and watch it all in one go (and it would take 3 hours). This is because this show was made for TV and therefore Dave has to recap what has happened at the start of each show. Also the pledge at the end of each episode is a little bit annoying. However if you are a fan of Dave Gorman then I would strongly recommend this DVD.
