i bought these for my eleven year old daughter, who's been having problems with the onboard sound on her laptop. She loved these as soon as she set eyes on them, and no wonder; they are incredibly cute and cuddly. They also work rather well, and she had to turn the volume down after getting them going. They plug in via USB and headphone jack socket, and don't seem to work just on one or the other, at least not on her device: it's both or nothing. But there is no software to have to install, they're just plug and play. She did have to update her audio drivers (she uses Windows XP), but my Windows 7 machine worked with them instantly. They have hanging loops with rubber suckers so they can be positioned for good stereo, or in her case hung on her dressing gown peg and headboard while she plays games on her bed. If you're a stereo purist you might find the sound quality a bit lacking, but there's no hiss or distortion even at full blast, and when separated they do give a good surround sound imitation. Plus they are adorable, and incredibly funny when emitting male voices. One warning - they're so cute she has had to have a strict warning not to treat them as normal toys and have them in bed overnight.

the sound quality was very low. and as there isn't any volume control button it means u r stuck with it. I deffinetly won't recommend this product. am back here looking for a better speaker to buy after putting this one in the recycle bin.
