We had to get an adapter with the newer desktop as it was not standard wireless networked once we opened it.

This USB with it's easy to use features and great connection has been a very good buy with windows managing the adapter.

Relatively cheap and easy to install, it saves removing the PC cover installing a PIC network card and then having to re-start it continuosly until everything has completed.

It can be used on all the PC's at home if you want to do so, and when the desktop isn't being used it can be taken with older laptops to connect to the more up to date wireless on the go!

Bought this external wireless adapter as the built in adapter on my ACER REVO Acer Aspire Revo R3600 Desktop PC (Intel Atom N230 1.6 Ghz, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, Vista Home Premium) was only showing one bar of signal and offering a very slow and unreliable link to the WLAN in the house.

Plugged this into the USB port and Windows 7 recognised it and loaded the drivers. Now getting full signal strength and fast and reliable link.

Can't fault it.
