The funny thing about this DVD is that, if you've seen the new Top Gear, this will seem like cliche. However, being as it was before (hence the perm!) this DVD is a showcase of Clarkson's ideas in the first flush of their brilliance.
In addition, although this DVD is older, it is far more polished than anything up to the latest (e.g. The Good The Bad The Ugly), and also has more ideas and better direction than many of the modern ones.

A brief synopsis is that Clarkson takes an assortment of 'modern' cars and tests them against each other with the help of two racing drivers including Richard Burns (sadly missed...) As is usual, they argue and argue and the winning three are a real surprise..

Following this (in no particular order), Clarkson takes his ire out on a corvette (with a handy helicopter gunship) and then proceeds to run through a selection of Lada's, Skoda's and Eastern European cars before giving them the 'conkers' treatment, among other remedies.

In all, this is one of Clarkson's best DVD's and, before the present series of Top Gear, was truly the best thing he had done. Still, despite it's ideas being rehashed, it is still very watchable and well worth a go.
