Not a terribly good kit - it doesn't actually do that much to warrant its description as "awesome". You actually WANT it to tumble of the edge of the table so you can at least be entertained by its death throes before you decide its time to put it out of its misery.

Unfortunately this needed a lot of adult input and did not work. The legs did not support the weight of the duck. Overpriced.

Like other reviewers, I found this product to be fundamentally flawed: the robot is too heavy for the promised 'walk', and also the instructions lead you to (unintentionally) wire up the duck to walk backwards! There is a passage in the instructions which suggests solutions if the duck walks backwards: we tried them all. Reverse polarity, reverse batteries, even mixing red and black wires - but nothing solved the problem.

My son - who loves robots - enjoyed putting it together but when it failed to walk he lost interest. The single sheet of 'educational' insight was missed entirely - it would have been better incorporated with the instructions so users can learn as they build.

There are other robots that represent much better value than this.

I bought this for my eldest daughter who is 12 and into robots at the moment. She had problem putting it together. I thought it would be a bit of fun but it turned out to be a welcome eye opener. She loved the way the thing went together and after the initial laughter of it's strange gait started to think about different ways to move robots. I still like watching it waddle about.

It's just as the Terminator movies predicted - the robots are taking over.

And in duck form too.

Truly terrifying.
