My only issue is I am unable to download any software\updates related to this product from the Cisco site as i don't have a Service Contract.

Great product, arrived quickly and perfect condition.

Turned up quickly which was fine, What wasn't fine is the proprietary software that comes with it. Can't even change a simple IP address via ADSM as once you do that it can't then write to startup memory. Only option appears to be the Console cable - old hat 9 pin COM port which modern PC's don't have. Personally I used the option of reprogramming it with a large axe. I won't be buying Cisco ever again that's for sure.

A licence to upgrade this to do useful things - such as more than 10 internal hosts or more than one VLAN will cost as much again.

Cheap hardware - expensive licences!!

The other reviewers were very good except one said the memory was good for future use. With the release of 8.3 firmware you require 512 Mb of RAM which costs on average £100. Without it, you can only install version 8.2 or lower. Now, the software in on version 9.01

The device is at end of life now so no longer worth purchasing. As for configuration of the device it's not so easy and I could never reset mine because the reset switch was never soldered on correctly and was loose in the box. Using the software from the device to reset always failed with errors (not warnings) so I found it useless in that respect. Configuring the VLANS (1, 2 & DMZ) for outside, inbound wasn't something found to be easy. If like I, you have a modem router on a static IP, internal network on a 10 range and not using the outside network for now it was difficult to sort. If you search for guides to help you get the same commandline on so many pages as they have stolen it from each other yet nothing I found on the net came close to my required configuration. One of the other reviews mentioned that there was a good guide out there but the link doesn't show.

I found the cheapest place to buy this wasn't Amazon or Ebay but a site called www.oyyy.co.uk

Take into account that this product is and the end of it's life (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps6032/ps6094/ps6120/eol_c51-711120.html) now so if you purchase it you're buying a product that will work but has been susperseeded by a newer but over double the price. Don't forget the cost of the memory that needs to be factored in too but without that service agreement mentioned by the others you cannot get ahold of the firmware upgrades so the chances are the box will come with an early version of the firmware.
