What ever you do, DON'T buy series four of Love Thy Neighbour if you already own series three of this programme. What's on this DVD is episode 3 - 10 of series three, and no episode of series four whatsoever, which does have 15 episodes.

Be warned! This so-called complete series 4 is no more than some of the episodes from series 3.I bought it a few days ago, and on reading the back cover it become obvious that it was no more that. I was fortunate that the retailer i got the dvd from agreed to take it back.

Since only people who already have the series 1-3 would ever buy this, it will not be long before all the dvd companies get the complaints rolling in. Save yourselves the hassle, and AVOID!!!

This purports to be a new series of Love Thy Neighbour but is actually exactly the same as Series 3, only difference being Series 3 is in a red box with 4 discs with 2 episodes on each ans this series is in a purple plastic box with 2 disc and 4 episodes on each..very disappointed..total rip-off, if you already have Series 3 do not buy this dvd.

The problem here is the original series 1-3 box sets released by Pegasus IN DIGI-STACK PACKAGING actually contain series 1-4.

Now, Fremantle have released the entire collection (minus one episode) and repackaged all 8 series with the correct episodes.

So, you only need to buy this if your series 1-3 dvds are the Fremantle releases (their catalogue numbers will start FHED...)

Hope this helps.

Series 4 is a problem. It actually has 14 episodes but during transmission there was at least one postponment which lead to the original dvd producer assuming series 4 was actually 2 series - although to be fair 14 episodes is a long run for a Thames sitcom of that era. The postponment lead to the mistaken belief that there was an April Fools episode. There isn't. But when it was eventually shown after being delayed it was aired on April 1st so the TV Times added an April Fool reference to the description of the episode , probably to try and defend a bank holiday screening of a regular sitcom episode that had been due to be aired a few weeks earlier.Apart from the April Fool reference the description matches the Bananas episode scheduled for Feb 25th 1974 but postponed due to an earlier episode also being postponed. Thames themselves also seem confused and it looks like dvd producers have been working from actual transmission dates instead of intended ones. The Pegasus release includes series 3 and some of series 4 so when Thames issued series 4 they not only included episodes already released by Pegasus they didn't even include all of series 4 - presumably because they too were unsure of what constituted series 4 as it started in December 1973 and didn't end until April 1st 1974 - but there were interruptions to the schedule which made it even more confusing. The Complete series set includes every episode albeit the Coach Trip one is included on the wrong disc

Again this TV series is about two nebours and the problems they encounterd because this was in the seventies when the Afro Carobeans were coming here to live and improve their standard of living, most of them were not made very welcome and this series begins about that issue and how both nebours became firm freinds in the end.

I bought this for my parents and they love it. We watched the TV series and find it good, clean fun, from an era when political correctness did not exist.

Still as funny as the first time around, thoroughly enjoyed watching the series again. Would recommend to anyone who loved seventies sitcoms.
