The fez. My go-to fashion accessory.
on 4 March 2014
I've been meaning to write a review of the Maroon Fez with Black Tassel for some time now, but have not had an opportunity what with my busy schedule.
Fortunately for you, a combination of factors enabled me to compose this review over my lunch hour:
A) I happened to be wearing my Maroon Fez with Black Tassel today.
B) I was getting PLENTY of female attention, if you know what I mean. Lots of lusty women obviously undressing me with their eyes... except for the fez of course... naturally, they were mentally picturing me wearing only the fez! Right? Well... the fez and the monocle.
C) I had my laptop with me and the dining establishment where I lunched provided free Wi-FI access. (Thank you McDonald's)
So anyhoo, perfect storm of factors come together... masterpiece gets written... yadda yadda yadda... and you, my friend, find yourself reading fez reviews, a clear indicator that you already possess a sense of sartorial flair and are contemplating the purchase of this lovely piece of men's headgear.
From a style perspective, I feel that I must underscore the importance of the tassel version. I am reminded of how this very subject caused a parting of the ways between me and my long trusted haberdasher, Frederic. I was meeting with him for our weekly review of my wardrobe and the subject of the fez came up in conversation. He expressed a preference for the style with the little stem on top. Initially, I didn't trust my ears and demanded that he repeat what he had just said.
"I prefer the non tath'ld fez," Frederic lisped matter-of-factly.
I slapped him hard across the face and walked indignantly out of the office.
Quickly realizing my mistake, I returned and told him that he should leave (it was my office.)
For me it's either tassled fez or no fez, and let's face it, an international man of mystery such as myself wouldn't be comfortable for long sans fez.
Women instinctively crave a man with a penchant for sartorial elegance. I've found that when I pair the fez with a smoking jacket and wear my reading monocle, the babes can't keep their eyes off of me.
