The blender; an over used term for describing a little known band by comparing them to a slew of better known bands. This particular blender would feature The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Locust, Beecher, Converge and Mr Bungle, to form a swirling vortex of unattractive but massively appreciable noise.
This is the debut "album" from these Glaswegian noiseniks and the inverted commas are well required because this intoxicating din clocks in at a mere fifteen minutes, a brief quarter hour where every synapse you possess will be subjected to a vicious kicking leaving your poor brain in a state of utter incomprehension. Frantic guitars, determined to use every fret and reach every conceivable direction within the bounds of a sub-minute song, a drummer eager to batter his kit to within an inch of future use and screamed vocals in the same league of rawness as Jacob Bannon.
Not even remotely easy listening, but if you like your music challenging, raw and honest, the beautifully monikered (watch Karate Kid again) Take a Worm for Walk Week are most certainly for you.
