This was TSOL's first full length studio album, released in 1981 originally ( their previous output was only ep's ). As one of hardcore's pioneers in the early 80's along with bands such as Bad brains and the Circle jerks, TSOL really helped define the genre now known as goth punk with this and the later, more glossy Beneath the shadows. Although bands such as AFI and the Offspring cite TSOL as their greatest influence, do not let this deter you. Dance with me is the greatest album of it's kind and ranks as TSOL's best work. If you are a fan of the early US hardcore scene, when punk rock was still real, you'll be hard pushed to find a better example than this. Pop it in the cd player and lean back as you listen to Jack yell "I wanna f**k, I wanna f**k the dead!!". Wonderful!
This is punk rock of the old school variety. The songs come fast and furious. It is offensive in all the right places. "Code blue" being very funny and in very bad taste. This helped lay down the format similar to that used by more recent bands such as guttermouth. this album rocks-check out some of their other stuff. sounds similar to some misfits.
t.s.o.l are a fantastic band and were around in the 80s. This album has some great songs such as code blue (the kind of song you better not let your parents hear)and love story. Many modern bands sound like t.s.ol such as guttermouth, misfits and rancid the only downside to this excellent album is that it is only 27 minutes long, so if you are looking for a long album then this is not it!!!This is the only reason why i gave 4 out of and 5 and not 5 out of 5
