I am a postman of 20 + years and this is the best post box I have used , so I bought one myself ( and later found out others at work had the same one!!)
Why is it good?
1 its large enough for a decent amount of post
2 the slot is at the top so your post won't get bent
3 the slot is easily big enough for A4 items
4 its good quality and looks good

I know you can get cheaper boxes but don't waste your money , and no wall box is ever theft proof but if the crime rate in your area is that bad maybe don't get a wall box!! ( even though I have never known theft from one)

When our spaniel inexplicably started ripping up our post, we fixed a basket on the back of the door, but large envelopes would just get stuck. We checked out other reviews on Amazon and went for the Brabantia post box, and are very pleased with it - it opens from the top and is large enough for thick A4 envelopes, it seems sturdy and looks smart. Our postman said it was the best type he's seen, and he should know.

Great postbox suited for either a modern or traditional home. Sleek to look at a holds alot of post. Some postboxes you can put your hand into the top and lift out the post but this is safe and secure. Hooray for brabantia. Fantastic buy and i should know as i looked at alot of postboxes before making my purchase.

Our old letterbox was leaky and always made the porch very cold and damp. I looked into replacing ti but as per usual in my life the letterbox was non-standard and I couldn't find an equivalent so I filled it in and bought one of these. Brabantia are a good brand and their stuff is always good quality soI paid the little extra over other similar products. The box is very good in terms of build quality and was very easy to deploy on the front wall of the house. It comes with a decent sized slot in the top which has a cover on it, which is 'cushioned' so it doesn't make any noise when being allowed to drop back into place. I can usually pick up ny Amazon DVDs and parcels around the A4 size with some ease, and newspapers also seem to fit OK. I'd say that any parcel that wouldn't fit my old letterbox would not fit this so I've not lost any capacity. It is also completely waterproof and I've not yet retrieved a single soggy letter unless Postie left it out in the rain or at the top of his/her bag.

In theory a child could get their hand in the top and get your letters/parcels, but just set it to a decent height and that's also mitigated asa threat. You get two keys with it as well, and the box provides the template you need for the hole drilling. It took less than 10 minutes to put in place. In fact it's very hard to find any fault with this product.

We bought this postbox as our young labrador kept eating the post as it came through the letterbox.

After lots of research, and comparisons I opted for this Brabantia box due to both the size of the opening for letters etc to go into (which is equal to that of the existing letterbox in the door), the fact that this lid lifts vertically so any size item can be dropped straight in without bending it, and the decent capacity. Although not cheap, it's not a bad price for a decent box of this quality.

The box has a template on it which helps you with fixing, and it did not take long to get it fixed by the front door.
Since then it has served us well over the past few months, and holds all the post we receive easily, never becoming too full, and keeping it all dry. Our only issue is that sometimes people don't notice it, and still use the normal flap in the door, so at some point we need to get a sticker to make sure people don't miss it in haste.

We have also had a few compliments on it and how nice it looks. Highly recommended.

Very pleased with this postbox (well done Brabantia for another quality product). I searched for ages for a postbox of large size (to take A4 magazines in larger envelopes) of good quality/solid construction for domestic use. ie I wanted a sleek look. There are loads of commercial looking large sized boxes that I did not like. Also many of similar size by other manufactirers that seemed too flimsy (they were too light to be made of strong materials). This one is a great weight, good finish, decent locking mechanism and was reasonably simple to fix to the wall.

Having decided to make the switch from a conventional letter cover in the door to a dedicated wall-mounted box, this seemed to be the best of the bunch of those on offer from Amazon. On first inspection, the box appeared well-made with an attractive finish. Certainly subtle and stylish. However, upon lifting the lid, immediate concerns with the size of the letter slot soon proved correct as my wife (average hand/wrist size) could easily pick out items of mail from inside without even unlocking the front door! Fine if you live in a zero crime area, but as we certainly don't, we decided without any hesitation to return the item to Amazon. So come on Brabantia, this is a potentially good product, but your design team needs to address the unfortunate realities of modern living, so security needs to be taken to the next level!

Good solid construction, easy to fix to a wall. 2 keys, screws and plugs included. The wide opening in the top allows magazines etc to be posted into the box. I would advise mounting the box so the top is above eye-level, as the wide opening allows you to peer in and see the contents (and possibly get them out). If it is mounted higher then you cannot see or get arm and fingers in.

Installing is not too onerous. The cardboard box contains some markers for the hole positions required, so you can cut the back off the box and use a bradawl or similar to makes holes in the cardboard and mark the positions to drill to take the wallplugs. Four thick plastic washers are included which lie between the box and the wall, thus giving enough clearance from the wall to enable the hinged lid to be lifted without grating against it. I suggest taping the upper washers to the correct position on the back of the box before you attach the box to the lower two washers you have already put on the wall, otherwise you will have a hell of a job trying to get your fingers behind the box and trying to get the washers in the right place for the screws to go through. Tightening all the screws inside the box with the Allen key is a little fiddly because of the lack of space to turn it.

The box is fairly lightweight but seems sturdy enough, and it is attractive and capacious. The slot in the top could be just about wide enough for someone to potentially steal any larger A4 sized items if you are worried about security, but unless you were to have a much deeper box, or else a thinner slot which you wouldn't be able to put thicker envelopes through, I don't see how you could avoid this.

The door lock is a little fiddly to open until you learn the trick - there is a slight depression just to the right hand side of the key slot which has a sliding cover, and you need to press the key first into that and then move it inwards and to the left to slide the slot cover out of the way so that the key can be inserted. The door is a little sticky to open - you have to yank it fairly firmly, so be ready to catch anything which might fall out.

Pleased with it overall.

Delighted with the quality of this post box. Postman said these are the best ones - he recommends them! Fitting was a bit fiddly but they include all the screws etc.
