TOP 1000 REVIEWERon 22 August 2011
This discset consists of the first series of 13 episodes of US detective drama Simon and Simon. Brothers Rick (Gerald McRaney) and AJ (Jameson Parker) are the luckless duo who add a humourous touch to their sleuthing in San Diego. The show would continue for a further seven series.
These episodes were originally screened in late 1981 and early 1982 in the US and during the early/mid80s in various parts of the UK on ITV. Never a huge success on these shores, the series gradually disappeared from the schedules on ITV.
This first discset has John Travolta appearing as a guest star along with various other known US faces.
The early episodes are particularly decent. My personal favourites are Details at Eleven, Love Christy, Trapdoors and The Hottest Ticket in Town. Trapdoors certainly shows it's age when 1981 computers and banking are at the forefront of the story.
A further four series are also available at the time of writing.
Enjoy.

Would have liked it a lot, but it was manufactured due to american standards, which I had overlooked when ordering it. So couldn`t be played on any of my dvd -players. Had to send it back. Whoever owns american standard dvd-players in europe? -This rating system is invalid, because I just love the series but couldn`t play the disc. How many stars does this represent? 5 stars for the series and the actors, zilch for reality!

Except for one episode, all the opening and internal show music is... not great. Still, the show itself is fine, and funnier than I remembered.
