My first experience of the Nice was at the Windsor Festival in 1967. They had finished backing the singer PP Arnold, and were playing their own set in a marquee, and were stunning. This compilation contains the best of what I consider to be their most exciting work, mainly from their first three albums, and although there is a more comprehensive anthology available this collection represents excellent value for money.Lee Jackson may not be the most naturally gifted vocalist but the 3 live performances I was fortunate enough to enjoy were served more than capably by his singing, whilst instrumentally the band were superb, both as a four piece, and as a trio following David 'O' List's departure. This cd is an excellent 'taster' for those new to the band, and for more familiar fans a very good 'highlights' package to complement any existing collection. Nice to hear them, to hear them.....well, you know the rest!
