The title say's it all really. In fact I used this knife today when tightening the shackles on my boat and it does exactly what you'd expect. The knife is extremely well made with a very high quality feel and finish. If you want a good sailing knife then look no further.

This is a very nice "sailing style" pocket knife. It is well made but the design has some flaws. It is not "Heavy duty" at all. The fundamental flaw is that the serrated blade does not lock. Not a good feature for a knife intended for use in unpredictable environments at sea. Secondly, the blade is too small to make an effective rescue/emergency knife, which must be the intended use, otherwise I cannot understand why a serrated blade would be used. Also, the shackle key is not ergonomic when using the knife. The company either needs to sell this item as a pocket knife with a plain blade or develop it as a proper emergency tool which has a locking blade of a useful size.

Bought as a working tool for my boat it is almost too good to use . Well made and beautifully finished it is set off by a handsome but impractical white lanyard. (The latter will be kept for best and replaced with some parachute cord). Highly recommend to anybody who likes nice things for their own sake As an added bonus it is also quite good at the job it was manufactured for!
