Worth a look
on 4 June 2011
A neat little thriller starring the iconic Marilyn Monroe in a fairly rare dramatic role. The plot is quite limited and straightforward, and as a result this is hardly a classic. But the actors are all excellent here, making this worth a look at least.
Fans of Monroe used to her glamorous side will get a bit of shock here, as she is demure for a good portion of the film and her character is not the fun-loving, happy-go-lucky gal we're used to but rather a disturbed, dangerous person very much in need of saving.
Widmark is on typically good form, while Anne Bancroft appears in a supporting role that already showed the huge potential she'd follow through on in later roles.
