Bought them 3 months ago. Spent a couple of days trying to like them. Didn't like them and havn't touched them since. Gone back to my old Derwent Cumberland pencils which I much prefer.
The pencils are surprisingly light which I felt uncomfortable with. I found the colour a bit dry and 'dusty'. There are some serious omissions in the range of colours. Lots of purples but no mauves or lilacs which are very useful for skin tones amongst other things . . and only 1 yellow ochre which was found in the green range surprisingly. Lots of greys, and all cool greys which was quite uneccessary.
As well as that the metal box lid does'nt close properly. Within 20 minutes I had to find an elastic band to keep the lid closed. There was no layer of soft material between the metal lid and the top layer of pencils to protect them. Even a cheap box of chocolates manages to do that.
The underside of the lid is marked with the colour of each pencil from pressing down so hard on the top layer. The box is just not deep enough.
Disappointing, but entirely my fault for believing all the good reviews instead of taking the advice of more than one person who said . . try a small number of them first in case they don't suit you.
So . . .
Don't believe all the good reviews . .
TRY A FEW OF THEM FIRST IN CASE THEY DON'T WORK FOR YOU !
