Saw them live on a boat on the Thames for the Carling24 event!

Boy Kill Boy's album Civilian offers outstanding melodies and catchy choruses combined with rocking riffs and 80's electro pop style synths. If you remember the feeling you got when you first heard the Killers then you will love Boy Kill Boy. However Boy Kill Boy can not really be compared with any other band as the sound is unique.

Starting with BACK AGAIN, very fast yet catchy lyrics with excellent riffs. The perfect start to the album. this will lead the way to the next track surely to be a release ON & ON, lots of electro 80 pop going and again catchy. SUZIE is by almost the best song i've heard this year, just the way it kicks in and i guarantee you will be singign this song after one listen. CIVIL SIN was the song that got me into this band and if u listen you will see why... KILLER is really 80's style-ish, superb riffs and repitive chorus, again catchy. On my own is one of my favourite tracks.

Overall this is a really catchy album and this band are excellent live... so from my point of view I'd say ignore the review with the one star rating.

totally brilliant.

if you love the singles then you will love the rest of this album!

a couple of ballads and the expected BKB up-beats.

with tracks like '6 minutes' and 'ivy parker', ummmm.....you cant go wrong.

This album really showcases the talents of this band and really shows of chris' voice.

Brilliant band, brilliant album, 5 stars..........LOVE IT!!!!!

...somehow this album suffers from blandness. There are moments of supreme excellence, notably everybodies' favourites 'Suzie' and 'Civil Sin'. Other than these the album rumbles on without ever causing offence but, also, without ever realy arresting your ears and giving them a damn good aural boxing. They are a fantastic live band and deservedly 'headlined' NME's New Bands Tour; as this is their first effort it is highly promising but your best bet is to buy the singles mentioned above for 79p a pop on iTunes and not squander 900p on the album.

Bought this on the strength of the 3 minutes of post-punk genius that is the single "Suzie". Unfortunately (from my point of view, anyway) the rest of the album is more Feeder than Franz Ferdinand. Not bad, but definitely not great.
