This is a very nicely done remake of a classic game !

It's actually really 2 games in one , there's classic style mode which is almost the same as the old 80s version in stage layout , just with a new polygon makeover.

Unfortunatly playing this mode is somewhat unattractive , despite the polygon makeover because it's not viewed in widescreen , but squashed in full frame with borders down the sides.

It's a nice addition , but the thing is classic mode is so hard at times , it's off-putting ... hehe ....

The main game is new style mode which is presented in lovely widescreen unlike classic mode !

New style is pretty much a new game in terms of level layout compared to the 80s classic and bosses have new super attacks too !

Also boss weaknesses have been reworked in this game style, as this remake of the features an exciting addition of two new levels and boss characters !

New Style mode can be enjoyed by all levels of gamers .... you can set it on cakewalk easy ( where enemies are dumb and you have a safety net for pitfalls ) or insanely hard ( where enemy/boss attack patterns have gone wild )

normal is the best balance for enjoying this game though ....... ( although i still find gutsman platforms a horror to deal with .... lol )

Actually i've got to say , New style mode is everything the original megaman game should have been in the 80s in terms of difficulty ...... because i always thought first couple of megaman games were too difficult to enjoy .... hehe .... i was wondering how they could indeed call it a kids game ... being so frustratingly taxing ......

Probably the most exciting aspect of new style mode is the ability to play as the games bosses , after you've beaten them under a certain condition !

In total there are 11 characters to play as in new style mode !

The story and voicework in new stylemode is quite fun too , kids will love this game ... the visual style just ozzes cute and charm too !

Other modes addd to the games lastability , those who like to make custom levels are in luck , as there is a level editor and using the wireless psp internet connection players can upload their creations on the web for all to enjoy .

There are new levels for other players to try too , up for download on the wireless internet connection ... both new official levels for download and custom ones made by fellow players.

There's also a 100 level challenge mode ... most challenges would only be bothered by the most hardcore megaman players ... as some of them are godly hard ....

All in all , this game gives you alot of bang for your buck , as there are alot of modes and extras that can keep you going , including always new content to download ....

Megaman powered up is a solid and fun platform title , that gives you old school addictive playability with a new coat of polygon paint ! It's a very enjoyable game overall.

Great fun for psp definitely .... for both veteren gamers and new comers alike.

This is a fantastic remake of the classic original megaman game on the NES, besides the new graphics you have alot of new features to play around with as well.

For a start the most obvious addition is the level editor you can make your own levels and post them on the PSP/megaman website, and then download other peoples levels to play around with or you can download new levels made by Capcom to chalenge you and there's a new character to download (Roll).

Other features include New mode/Classic Mode you can choose to play the original nes game in 3D or New mode offers the original game with added story scenes and extra levels plus bosses. Also for the first time you can unlock and play as any of the boss characters that appear in their own variety of story mode including cutscenes and voice overs.

And then there's Challenge mode which lets you try out 100 specificaly made challenges with a nice reward if you can beat them all, I won't spoil it.

I highley recomend this game to any megeman fan or anyone with a PSP and likes action/platform games.

tight controls, delightful sense of humour, excellent story, brilliant characterisation and fantasticly challenging level design. All fantastic hallmarks of a genuinly wonderful Megaman game.
