In this long awaited second album from the daugther of the "diva" Ellis Regina all the tracks are worth listening to again and again. After the huge sucess of her first album the young woman that keeps saying that her long departed mother is irreplaceble joins with several of the most famous brazilian composers - including her elder brother Marcelo - to bring us an unforgettable experience: her voice echoes the tone of that of her mother's but is unique and carachteristic; the choice of songs is wonderful, joining brazilian rythms with other latin influences (Buena Vista Social Club seems to continue to influence Maria Rita) and blues and jazz nuances.

For those who understand Portuguese the lyrics are superb and an wonderfull theme for reflection and are served by an astounding interpretation.

All in all a worthwhile second (Segundo) album. Highly recommended.

I was fortunate enough to be present on a live concert of Maria Rita where she interpreted songs from this and from her first album. it was a unique experience. Maria Rita is a wonderful person, a outstanding communicator, a charismatic performer and her presence on the stage confirms my opinion that she has many points of contact with her late mother.

As with many great singers she doesn't know how to read a score, all her interpretations rely only on her ears. Which it is strange: her father and at least one of her brothers are composers, great musicians, who write and read music scores.
