This is a great set for the Hitchcock fan, there are bound to be more complete sets out there but with 14 films this set has pretty much every movie you should see when you want to watch Hitchcock at his best.

This boxset contains 14 of Hitchcocks 53 films and most of his best Hollywood work from the 40s to the 70s.The classic period psychological thrillers from the mid 50s (Rear Window) to the mid 60s (Marnie) are particularly fine-This set is also a history of film making as it shows how the changing tastes of audiences affected his style(Alas!).14 of the greatest directors finest works, well presented and packaged, and each with highly entertaining, often humorous, trailers and documentaries, and all for under £20: It`s a bargain!

Awful quality! The DVDs wouldn't play despite being region 2. So disappointed!

As has been pointed out by other reviewers, this box has its problems. Chief among these is that not all the films are in their original aspect ratios (even worse is that the information on the box itself is misleading, mixing the numbers and the labels on aspect ratios repeatedly).
However, for the price you're not likely to get as great a pile of films as these. There's scarcely a dud in here (Topaz and Family Plot are not so great, but bad Hitchcock is still better than a lot of directors' 'great'), and many of Hitchcock's best films are here (only The Birds out of the 'classics' isn't in the correct ratio). Prints are all the best available, and every film comes with a featurette (all, I think, at least half an hour in length) that covers the basics on its film as well as including interviews with surviving 'players.'
The only real surprise in here was a bonus disc with Psycho, which includes an interview with Hitchcock and the AFI tribute dinner to him. Neither of these are necessary, but nice little extras anyway.
What it comes down to is that this is a fantastic bundle of fine cinema for very little cash. Any issues with the content are really just quibbling. If you have those kind of problems, you should have no trouble shelling out proper money for correct copies.

Not seen that many of Hitchcock's films so I grabbed this when I saw it. Suitably impressed too. Very classy stuff indeed with all films containing good humour and some fantastic tension. These are perfect rainy day films to while away the hours.

Rear Window is excellent and warrants it's legendary status. Grace kelly and James Stewart ooze charisma. Stars just aren't what they used to be.

Also enjoyed "Family Plot" very much. Dont know how the afficionados rate that one, but I found it funny and exciting and not a little daft. A couple of the films included aren't as hot, as they haven't aged as well in my opinion. That's a minor critiscm though.

The special features also make this a very worthwhile addition to anyone's collection at home. Nice interviews with some of the stars and technical crew.

Summing up, this is a great collection and there are plenty more of Mr Hitchcock's films on dvd to purchase.
