Colosseum II, a Supergroup if ever there was one and one that really worked! Classic Rock, Jazz Rock, Prog Rock, 'Strange New Flesh' puches every button. Peerless percussion from John Hiseman, searing guitar from Gary Moore (Best ever work?), real creativity from the keyboards of Don Airey (Fans of Moogs and ARP's are in for a treat) and fine bottom work from Neil Murray on bass plus Mike Starrs giving vocal performances that are quite staggering. This album is an embarrassment of riches, if you like them long with long licks prepare to be indulged. Stand out tracks 'Secret Places' and 'Winds' plus an incredible cover of Joni Mitchell's 'Down to you'. This was a prime performance of a fine band. The Expanded Edition offers further treasures.
