Those lucky enough to have satellite or cable already know what Brainiac is - a terrific little show that has brought entertainment, comedy and anarchy to science - Jackass with brains, attitude and a sense of purpose. This DVD is the best bits of season one which first appeared on TV about 18 months ago but with loads of extras like outtakes, behind the scenes material and profiles of the presenters who are Richard Hammond, Jon Tickle and Dr Bunhead. The beauty about Brainiac is its appeal across the generations - I watched it with my grandparents and we were all laughing out loud. It carries a 12 certificate but I don't really know why unless it has something to do with the don't try this at home elements! This DVD will make a great stocking-filler - here's hoping that the Best of Season's Two and Three follow shortly. In the meantime, I'm off to persuade the folks to get Sky installed - purely for "educational" purposes!

If you have access to Sky 1, 2 or 3. Then chances are you have heard of or seen Brainiac.

As it says on the box, it's a BEST OF, which obviously misses out some of the funner, better bits of the show. But because the show is still running on Sky 1, it is repeated all the time. You'd be better of recording (or Sky Plussing if you have the funds) it and watching it in full.

I also have to say, Vic Reeves is much better than Richard Hammond in the newer episodes.
