I suspect like others, I was excited at the prospect of this DVD, a critical review of one of my fave albums ever. But what a disappointment it turns out to be. The tragic lack of any live footage of UFO from the Strangers tour means this is padded out with inferior live stuff from 1975 (when the band were ok but still developing with Schenker and the sound is incredibly flat without Raymond's keyboards/rhythm guitar!)and interviews with some geezers they obviously found in a bus queue.
I can put up with the ocassional error (Schenker was still in his teens when he recorded Lights Out ... err, he was 22) but the lack of music from Strangers in favour of inferior stuff (the 75 film and the mimed videos) is inexcusable. No more so than when discussing my fave track ever, the awesome Rock Bottom form Strangers, featuring the greatest guitar solo ever laid down by a human being - over the '75 footage of a truly bad Schenker Rock Bottom solo (you know, all over the place widdling with no sense of structure) - I was about ready to throw something at the telly!!
Admittedly, UFO completists will want to buy this for the rare early footage but don't expect a serious review of Strangers.
ps one "nobody" actually says if he had been in the band (!) he would have re-arranged Mother Mary and made it longer. Take a deep breath...

Forget the "criticalalbum review" by a load of has beens and never wheres. Even an appearance from Pete Way who seems to have great difficulty remembering the album/recording. (Not surprising really considering it is a miracle he has survived the 80's and 90's).
No the only reason to buy this DVD is the Don Kirshner live footage. This consists of 4 live 4 piece tracks Give her the gun, space child, doctor and an orgasmic Rock Bottom - these are the days (1974) when Schenker was one of the greatest guitarist ever. The boogie for george and only you can rock me extras are both (poorly) mimed.
Don't worry the three tracks are well worth the price of this DVD and make anything less than 5 stars a sick joke.

If you remember UFO then you're an aged rocker like me and you have probably got this album on vinyl as well as CD. As one of my favourite albums of all time I thought I'd get this DVD primarily because of the title. And its well worth it. Content is good, its great hearing/seeing Pete Way and getting his inside track on the album. The video is good, its great seeing the band in action.
My other half thinks its good, which must a first. Lots of "good" in this review, so if you are a fan then get it, you won't be disappointed.

No I don't think I am over stating how great this DVD is, if nothing else the bonus features alone make this worth every penny.
This is classic UFO material when the group was made up by Michael Schenker, Phil Mogg, Pete Way and Andy Parker, this is the first time I have seen on DVD live performances of classic's such as Rock Bottom, Doctor Doctor and Space Child. I need to have a sit down as I am still shaking with excitement.
If you only bought one UFO DVD this year this would be my choice every time.

50 minute review of Strangers In the Night with Krusher and Co - Then we get 30mins 6 songs as extras - boogie for george, give her the gun, space child, doctor doctor, rock bottom, only you can rock me. The performace of Rock Bottom here is not as good as on the album but visually this is as good as you are going to get.

It is not before time that we can revisit the distinctive performance of the group, for so long, there has been a dearth of material relating to some of there distinguished performances.
This is a "must have" for the large fan group, who have little opportunity to enjoy an innovative and contemporary review of there performances

I bought this DVD from classicrockdirect.com and it only took a couple of days to arrive. The reviewers do a decent job covering the long and complex history of UFO, referencing their discography with song clips and the occassional photo. So that part is ok, no problems.
The bonus tracks contain in full color the entire DKRC show. Amazing, simply amazing! Give Her The Gun, Space Child, Doctor Doctor, and Rock Bottom. It alone is completely worth the price you pay for this DVD. As an added bonus, you get a look at the original line-up from the Beat Club 1971, performing an almost 7 minute Boogie For George. Splendid stuff, just splendid. The bonus footage concludes with a lip-sync version of Only You Can Rock Me, which is nice but not essential. If you are a long term fan, this is absolutely essential, no doubt. For a newer fan, it's still fairly essential, because it shows a wonderfully talented rock band doing what they do best, rocking a crowd.
Wonderful stuff and I doubt you'll find many other archive releases with material this exciting. Just buy it!
