Come friendly bombs...
on 22 August 2016
I had the idea that the director's cut might mean that the cinema release version's shortcomings might have been the result of studio imposed edits so was keen to see this.
To my mind it is now over two hours of outrageously laughable overblown nonsensical wooden grandiosity beautifully filmed but dreary dreary dreary. After three seriously determined sessions, each seeming like a lifetime, I have still not made it through the whole film.
Who thought this was a good idea? The actors look trapped and bewildered having lost the will to live in roles they clearly do not understand or care for. Why am I wasting time even writing about this? I'll stop now. Life is too short.
