For the love of God, buy this album! I booked tickets to see The Kooks in Paris and saw that they were being supported by The Noisettes. Seeing as this means 'the hazelnuts' in French, I didn't know what to expect, but certainly didn't expect to them to completely upstage The Kooks by blowing the off stage with a fantastic performance! I bought the album straight away and it is superb! A brilliant, energetic, scatty voice; punky, driving rhythms and great drumming (from, I mite add, the hairiest drummer in the world) make this such an addictive EP. Bring on the album, these guys are gonna be huge, up there with all the Libertines, Bloc Parties and Arctic Monkeys you care to name... Buy it, buy it, buy it.
I love this band so much. I feel lucky to have stumbled upon them and seen such an amazing live show, and now -at last, they have something to have and to hold for ever and ever. I know this is a very limited run, I think a thousand copies only (that's why I bought three copies). This band are going to be massive, as soon as they get on radio and TV they'll be bigger than China, as for this record it is a testiment to how talented and able the NOISEttes (pronounched NOISE-ettes) are. "Don't Give Up" is a driving punk anthem, "Monte Christo" is a beautifully crafted, beautifully performed song to listen to on pic-nics with wasps in your pepsi. "Signs" -what a tune! A simply great tune. As for "Burn", this is the icing on the cake. Burn prooves that this band means business and are preparing a hostel take-over of your ear drums. Buy it Buy it buy it! You won't regret it.
