Any Billy Childish release is eagerly awaited with anticipation and this is no exception, although whilst a noticeable upping the ante of "This is This" and "Steady The Buffs", it feels like a slight dip from the previous outing, the astounding "1914". Still, even a merely 'great' (not superlative) release from the Medways wipes the floor with 99% of most of the other over-produced contrived rubbish out there. Roll on 2006, and another battered garage gem, then I guess.

perhaps not a huge change from previous works but there's still fun to be had in this record anyway. The minimalist "Karen with a C" will linger long after its 1:33 playtime, and the instrumental "Dustbin mod" 3 minute guitar jaming is a high-light.
