Viewed this one last night. A very emotional film. whether man or woman you are bound to drop a tear at some point in this movie.

Antwone is a young man who grew up without his mum and dad and the only memories he has are bad ones. He was given out to foster parents and lets just say was not the best experience of his life. After surviving; joins the navy. With the effects of his childhood affecting every aspect of his life, he is forced by the Navy to see a Councillor, Denzil Washington. On counselling Antwone Fisher he finds short comings in his own life.
He also encourages Antwone through some of his life struggles and to find his family whome he as never met. with his new found girlfriend they embark on a journey of discovery in more ways than one.

Wonderful wonderful film there is such innocence of a young black man and the everyday struggles he had which we often take for granted. This story is filled with hilts and turns just when you think he has it in the bag, bang there comes another untold chapter of the young mans life.
Truly a remarkable bio-film and portrayed so sensitively by the three actors. One i will always keep in my collection.

This is a very powerful film - heart wrenching, even heart breaking at times, but with an air of solidarity and healing, of overcoming an awful history to become something quite wonderful. Denzel Washington is perfection as always, and Derek Luke offers a sensitive portrayal of Antwone Fisher, from angry and broken young man to a strong, loved and loving person. Highly recommended.

HALL OF FAMETOP 10 REVIEWERVINE VOICEon 5 March 2014
Directed by and starring Denzel Washington in 2002 – it’s surprising to see in March 2014 that such a high quality movie by such a famous actor is still only available on BLU RAY in the ‘States’. This presents a problem for UK and European buyers…

This American 20th Century Fox BLU RAY title is REGION A LOCKED - so it will not play on the vast majority of our machines unless they're chipped to be 'all regions' (which most aren't).

Until such times as someone on this side of the pond sees fit to release this Navy man seeks help movie - it's wait and see - and once again Region Coding stymies our viewing pleasure…
