When I opened my package containing the Blu Ray of The Lost Weekend, I was immediately terribly impressed with the fantastic Blu Ray Steelbook case - very swanky and smart. The quality and sound on the disc is absolutely superb are the Extra's amazing.. A fantastic buy. Ray Milan's acting is worthy of an Oscar and Billy Wilder 's direction is, as ever, legendary. Treat yourself - ypu won't be disappointed.

Ray Milland, an alcoholic fighting the illness. Jane Wyman determined to help him through and to care and look after him. A life of dependency, regrets, if only. He explains the disappointments which occurred or how he could or what he could have made before the drink controlled his life. Can Jane Wyman help him through?

A classic film portraying with chilling accuracy the descent of a man driven by drink. All those who legislate on alcohol consumption, or feel they might have a drink problem, should look at it. And it is an acting triumph by Ray Milland, from the days when actors acted, and spoke clearly.
A masterpiece.

Excellent rendering of Charles R. Jackson's novel into film by legendary director Billy Wilder, with an outstanding performance by Ray Milland of the alcoholic in the thrall of addiction madness. A timeless cautionary tale. Hats off to Eureka!'s Masters of Cinema company for an outstanding upgrade to Blu-ray, along with good extra features.

This is a movie I loved as a youngster although it is by no means a kids movie being about a man trying to come off the drink and failing.Hence the lost weekend of the title.Ray Milland is somewhat forgotten these days but he was never better than here and was rewarded with an Oscar. There is a terrifying sequence where he is suffering the DTs.May give you nightmares.

One of the lesser known films of Billy Wilder, but still a classic. It has the look of a Wilder film, but is missing the trademark humour, which is appropriate given the subject matter (Alcoholism).
If you haven't seen it, the film is a must see.
If you have seen, you know it is worth seeing again.
