Up and down Doctor Who
on 7 September 2012
The Mind Robber is regarded as one of the classics. I don't agree 100%. I found this 5 episode show at times being overlong, getting tired and needing some editing.
It should have been 4 episodes all up. The idea of storys being interwinded with reality is a great concept that sort of works for me. The acting drops off at times, I loved the Gullivers Travels character, that really worked well. Zoe looked great in her tight fitting cat outfit. I loved a description of Zoes bum by one of the extra actors who was fortunate to wrestle with her during rehersals when she turned up in a mini-skirt. I can imagine she would have cringed when the producers would have said "by the way dear you will need to do a fight scene with this big guy".
Overall its a bit of a hit and miss story that generally is enjoyable but wont be one of those DVDs i'll play a lot.
The bonus stuff is quite boring especially a section of 'Basil Brush'. What the hell this is part of Doctor Who I don't know why, its a silly 5 or 10 minutes to fill out the lack of extras.
