This record from 2004 (the year before he died) features a live performance recorded in a bathroom in Dresden, Germany in 2003 and features Chris solo with just his National guitar. The songs are all old ones, including such Whitley classics as "Phone call from Leavenworth", "Big sky country", "Living with the law" and "Kick the stones". And surprisingly they all work amazingly well - even songs like "Big sky country", the original version of which benefited from a lavish studio production but here is even more poignant and atmospheric in its stripped down to the bone version. I found all these songs very moving, these are Texas gothic ghost town blues and you can almost hear the tumbleweeds blowing past in the background. And you can't fault Chris's performance - his vocals and guitar are loosely, rambling, hypnotic perfection.
