Not a bad little collection with some good tracks. Some of them are a little late to be truly part of the mod era (Creation, Irma Franklin for instance - Biff Bam Pow is one of my least favourite Creation tracks and Light My Fire - good track - but that was a monster hit for the hippy gods, the Doors) and some of them are a bit mainstream. All Or Nothing got to #1 and Georgie Fame's Yeh Yeh is too well known - might have been a #1 as well, I don't know. Shame they couldn't have found some obscurer tracks by him and the Small Faces and why they had to include those awful tracks by Messers Stewart and Bowie!!!? Is it because they're such megastars nowadays they think it's going to give the mod movement some sort of kudos? They're missing the point. Mod is about the arcane and the obscure - stuff that nobody else knows. Pah! David Bowie? Bet he's never heard of me!
As I said, not a bad little collection, but if you're new to the scene, don't take it as gospel that all of these tracks are 'mod classics'.
