Bang bang shoot shoot!
on 28 December 2009
I've been doing a bit of retro gaming recently, having purchased both an old Gamecube and an old Xbox console. The last consoles I owned were the PS1 and the Sega Megadrive both about 15 years ago. Since then I have been an occasional PC gamer and Thief addict.
Halo is a good fun if a little repetitive shooter which doesn't really get going until the Flood appear. Level design is very linear and a feeling of deja vu common whilst playing. Once you get halfway, you play the same levels but backward which is a bit cheeky.
The best parts are the open areas where you are forced to mix it up with all and sundry but these are rare. It's all rather mundane and I'm not tempted to play again.
