This album is a masterpiece of catchy riffs, emotive acoustic, sombre vocals and beautiful melodies. Standout track to be the title track, "the day it all come down" and also "bereavement" and "death walked the earth". I got into Insomnium later than I should of. They were the band which really changed my direction in music from metalcore/tharsh to Melodic death/doom/progressive metal and I have't looked back. Insomium mix all these elements perfectly to produce something that is just plain brilliant

This band qualify as one of my absolute top favourite metal bands. The voice is brutal, yet not overdone. The melodic parts fits perfectly to the vocals. I would describe it as melodic death metal. I would love to see them live some day. Their previous album "In the halls of awaiting" is also very good, but this is even better.

It's simply a masterpiece.
I don't like death metal.
These guys though... they have literally become my favourite band.
The emotion, melodies, mastering, lyrics. It's all just perfect.
