this camera rocks. You are not going to get better than this I was going to buy an olympus c220 zoom but I bought this instead because it has almost the same spec for less than half the price and looks great. Its fun and easy to use and would buy it again. Before I was shooting on an slr but I'am converted to digital photography. This is a great starter as well even my little brother can use it
This is my first digital camera, and I'm very happy with it. It's simple to use, and has a clever menu & function system - everything is easy find on the camera. All the buttons are in good places, so you dont have to move your fingers around much, you just point and click. The screen is quite nice and clear, not huge but is big enough to see if you got the right photo or have to take it again. Build quality is also surprisingly good, it feels well made. It's not too heavy to be cumbersome, and not too light to feel cheap. The lens cover is very useful in preventing scratches - not many digital cameras at this price even have that feature, let alone the TFT screen and flash. It comes with batteries, but of course it would be a good idea to get rechargeables and a charger. Having said that, battery life is pretty good. It helps not to use the screen all the time, and to keep it on auto-flash so that it only uses the flash when it needs to. There are plenty of different photo quality settings. You can choose between 800x600 and 1600x1200. In each of these settings you have a further three choices of quality, by varying the compression of the piccies. I usually have it set on high quality 800x600, as this allows 40 photos to be stored on the internal 8MB memory. This quality is great for viewing photos on-screen, or printing. The camera has an SD port, allowing memory to be expanded up to 128 MB, which is quite generous. The built in video record function is just a gimmick really, but is quite fun - with the memory upgraded to 128 MB you could probably capture three or four minutes of video. All in all, a great camera at a great price - packed with so many features that you just don't get with other cameras in the price range.
This camera is ideal for what i wanted it for. Basically a point and shoot camera which actually takes good quality pictures. Battery life is ok with standard batteries but when u put in regardables it is perfect lasts for at least 80 flash shots. Really good value for money and ideal for anyone who doesnt want to spend a fortune but wants to try a digital camera.
I had been looking for a budget digital camera for 6 months. I was looking for one in the sales but they had all sold out. I settled for this camera because it was in the right price bracket and had lots of features. My reason for getting a digital camera was to take pictures for my website. This camera has more features than I was looking for but was a great price. I bought a 64Mb SD card but you don't need it unless you are taking maximum resolution images. I also bought a battery charger with 4 NiMH batteries. You should consider this an essential item. It is a good camera at a good price.
What a cracking little camera! Simple and easy to use, great quality shots, built in flash, tft display screen, highly portable, what more do you want for the price? As an introduction to digital photography it is ideal. I also got a 32M card to go with it and can get over 45 shots at max resolution which gives great quality images for storing or printing. But reduce the quality and literally hundreds of good quality pics can be taken ideal for emailing or web site use. Criticisms are that the 2x zoom is not really enough and with the tft screen on it does use batteries quickly. Also there is a brief pause between pressing the button and taking a shot, not ideal for action shots, but you can just delete them and try again. I am delighted with my purchase and would recommend this product to all but the most serious photographers.
Having searched and searched for a digital camera decently priced for first time buyer, I think this camera offers everything at a reasonable price to try before perhaps moving onto a more expensive model.
