As a long standing fan of the Kings I have waited for this album for what seems like years. Was I dissapointed?...NO WAY.This is up there with "here are" and "stop" their two strongest albums in my opinion (up till now). The influences bounce all over the place The Seeds,The Watchband,The Stones,The Prunes there's snatches of these bands all through the album but done in the Kings own way.Take "stems & flowers" a collaboration with the ever freaky Sky Saxon this could have come straight from The Seeds "future" album it is that good with a strong seeds vibe right through it.For fans of garage psych The Jefferson Airplanes Jorma Kaukonen plays guitar on two blistering tracks "mystery trip" & "death is the only real thing" & you can tell, his tademark acid guitar drips all over the tracks. The only downside is I thought other 60's garage gods were going to collaborate on this album(sean bonniwell, james lowe e.t.c).To stop rambling,if you like top quality garage psych BUY this c.d & get the Kings on T.O.T.P it is that good.
