Have to admit I'd never heard of him before. CSN&Y, The Eagles, The Band, etc....yep, but not this guy (I think their version of Mr Tambourine Man put me off The Byrds). This just popped up in my recommendations, checked it out and love it. The vinyl soundx great. Cheers Amazon.

The driving force of the Byrds. Great history lesson.

Gene Clark was a really under-rated performer. After hitting the big time with The Byrds he seemed to lose his way. This is probably his finest solo recording.

Nearly all members of the Byrds went on to make solo albums, but none have ever matched this gem from Gene Clark. The first time I heard this album the hairs on the back of my neck stood up! The way the band blended together;the lyrics;the voice...brilliant! In common with John Peel and Bob Harris,I have always rated Love's "Forever Changes" as the best rock album ever made, but I have always rated "No Other" as the 2nd best rock album made. This particular version is as per the original album, with no "bonus tracks" to detract from the strength of the original,as so many do! No collection is complete without it.
